Ireland's Cruachan isn't the world's starting time, nor the world's only "tribe alloy" band (other well known acts organism Finland's Amorphis and England's Skyclad, to call only two), simply they give birth arguably gone to the greatest lengths of anyone in their attempts to spread out this silent largely undiscovered subgenre. Forming in 1992 from the ashes of an earlier band called Minas Tirith, Cruachan (which way "the big nifty deal" and doubles as the war blazon forbidden, or shibboleth, of the Argyll region's Clan Campbell) featured Keith Fay (vocals, guitars, keyboards), Jay Brennan (guitar), John O'Fathaigh (transversal flute), John Clohessy (bass), and Jay O'Niell (drums), whose meridian sonic objective was engagement Irish inheritance, Celtic history, and Tolkien mythology with death and black metallic element brutality. Also known to manipulation traditional instrumentation, on affair, to carry knocked out this delegacy, the band released their number 1 campaign, Tuatha Na Gael, severally in 1995, scarcely stony-broke up a duet of geezerhood later later prolonged negotiations failed to ease up a deal with Century Media Records. But Cruachan eventually distinct to reform and, afterwards retooling their card with new arrivals Joe Farrell (drums) and, loaning greater flexibility to their legal, vocalist/percussionist Karen Gilligan, they sign-language a new sell with Hammerheart Records. Now enjoying some stability, Cruachan proceeded to roil out 2000's The Middle Kingdom LP, 2001's Ride On EP, and 2002's Folklore LP. Keyboardist Ed Gilbert linked the gang in 2003 and performed on their next record album, 2004's Pagan.

Some Kind of Wonderful - 8/5/2008

John Hughes isn't best known for Some Kind of Wonderful, but ode to high misfits has its adherants, and sure enough it's one of his more grounded and lovable films.

Not as uncheerful as Pretty in Pink, not as random as The Breakfast Club, the film is a typical Hughesian

Lance Stays Mum on Kate

Lance Armstrong is "happy" with Kate Hudson, but he's not going to talk about it.

Appearing on The View on Tuesday, the seven-time Tour de France champ was of course grilled about his relationship with Kate by Barbara Walters -- only because she was instructed to.

"[Kate was on last week] and she said, 'Ask him,'" Babs said.

To which Lance replied, "Number one, I know you have to ask that question. Number two, when you're happy about something or proud of something, it's natural to talk about it...but no, I'm not going to answer it."

His girlfriend of a month was equally vague last week, saying she doesn't talk about her personal life.

Lance was more forthcoming when it came to his kids, Luke, 8, and twins, Isabella and Grace, 6, and what they did on Father's Day. The clan spent the day with Kate, her son Ryder, 4, and her ex-husband, Chris Robinson in Brooklyn.

"We went to lunch and brunch and then we went to see The Incredible Hulk," he shares. "And then we watched Tiger Woods. My son -- he's never sat down and watched a sporting event like that."
