Muse Wow Crowds At V Festival

Muse triumphed on a fantastic opening day at the V Festival in Chelmsford.

The ring played a hit-laden set commencing with the strident Map Of The Problematique before climaxing an hour and half later with a thundery rendition of Knights Of Cydonia.

Frontman Matt Bellamy was in typically charismatic pattern showcasing why he is one of Britains best living musicians and performers.

Highlights of the show including the mass sing-alongs of Feeling Good, Time Is Running Out and Supermassive Blackhole.

After two encores the ring ended their show with a waterfall of fireworks and flames engrossing the stage much to the astonishment of the crowd in attendance.

The Verve are set to headline the Chelmsford site tonight while Muse will take to the stage in Staffordshire.

Some Kind of Wonderful - 8/5/2008

John Hughes isn't best known for Some Kind of Wonderful, but ode to high misfits has its adherants, and sure enough it's one of his more grounded and lovable films.

Not as uncheerful as Pretty in Pink, not as random as The Breakfast Club, the film is a typical Hughesian

Lance Stays Mum on Kate

Lance Armstrong is "happy" with Kate Hudson, but he's not going to talk about it.

Appearing on The View on Tuesday, the seven-time Tour de France champ was of course grilled about his relationship with Kate by Barbara Walters -- only because she was instructed to.

"[Kate was on last week] and she said, 'Ask him,'" Babs said.

To which Lance replied, "Number one, I know you have to ask that question. Number two, when you're happy about something or proud of something, it's natural to talk about it...but no, I'm not going to answer it."

His girlfriend of a month was equally vague last week, saying she doesn't talk about her personal life.

Lance was more forthcoming when it came to his kids, Luke, 8, and twins, Isabella and Grace, 6, and what they did on Father's Day. The clan spent the day with Kate, her son Ryder, 4, and her ex-husband, Chris Robinson in Brooklyn.

"We went to lunch and brunch and then we went to see The Incredible Hulk," he shares. "And then we watched Tiger Woods. My son -- he's never sat down and watched a sporting event like that."

George Lucas - Lucas Scraps Plans For Indiana Jones Cannes Bash

GEORGE LUCAS has stunned partygoers at the Cannes Film Festival by deciding against throwing a lavish launch party to celebrate the premiere of INDIANA JONES AND THE KINGDOM OF THE CRYSTAL SKULL.

The legendary moviemaker has ignored the French film festival's usual etiquette by snubbing a spectacular premiere after-party in favour of a comparatively compact 'filmmakers party' - with just 250 guests - after the fourth installment of the Indiana Jones franchise is premiered at the event on Sunday (18May08).

The move comes amid rumours the film was panned by movies bosses in Los Angeles who previewed Harrison Ford's revival of his role as the whip-cracking adventurer, according to Britain's Daily Telegraph newspaper.

And Lucas, who worked on the eagerly awaited film with veteran director Steven Spielberg, is seemingly trying to play down the hype surrounding the movie, in case it's a flop with film fans.

He says, "When you do a movie like this, people anticipate that it's going to be the Second Coming. And it's not. It's just a movie. You're not going to get a lot of accolades doing a movie like this. All you can do is lose."
